Tech List 2023 Recognition

The Silicon Valley Arbitration & Mediation Center again named Mr. O'Neill to the 2023 "Tech List"of the World's Leading Technology Arbitrators.   

In June 2022 the European Commission completed a renewal process for designating the pool of arbitrators for dispute settlement panels under trade agreements to which the EU is a party. A selection panel of experienced international judges and academics examined the candidates to confirm their suitability for appointment. Mr. O'Neill was found to be suitable for appointment and is now publicly listed on the EU panel for the position of Chairperson for Arbitrations.  He is one of a handful of Americans named among approximately sixty individuals globally to the list of arbitrators eiigible to chair arbitral panels for disputes under the EU/UK Trade & Cooperation Agreement.

The Shanghai Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission  (SHIAC) announnced the appoinment of Mr. O'Neill to its panel of arbitrators through April 30, 2026. 

Mr. O'Neill received recognition (for the third year in a row) as Arbitration Lawyer of the Year in Massachusetts -- 2023" by both Corporate International Magazine and Global Experts.  He was also recognized by the Lawyers Network in its annual awards as Arbitration Lawyer of the Year in Massachusetts ---2022.

Mr. O'Neill was again awarded for 2023 the AV - Preeminent Rating by Martindale Hubbell and AV -- Preeminent Judicial Rating, the highest honor given in both legal ability and ethics by both peers and the judiciary.  ALM Media and Matindale-Hubbell also selected him in 2023 as a "Top Rated Litigator".

In 2022 Mr. O'Neill was reocgnized once again by his peers in Best Lawyers in International Arbitration (commercial and governmental) both nationally and in metro New York City.

Mr. O'Neill received recognition as "Arbitration Lawyer of the Year in the State of Massachusetts" for 2021 by Global Law Experts.

Mr. O'Neill was reappointed for another five year term on the Panel of Arbitrators of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) until 30 April 2026.

In February 2022 Mr. O'Neill's article "Transformative Technology & Arbitration's Emerging Future" was published in Volume 32 No. 3 of the American Review of International Arbitration at pages 337-59.

 In 2021 Mr. O'Neill was again peer nominated as one of the top Commercial Arbitration practitioners in the U.S. by Euromoney's Expert Guides to the World's Finest Lawyers.

In 2020 Mr. O'Neill was again elected (with Professor William Park) as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Boston International Arbitration Council.
